Actually it does work if you run my updater mod:

Sorry about that Forsakenlad, My mistake. Too many pages in the thread I guess.

I've updated the first post to reflect your updates ;D

Yep It is, I had to browse 5 to 10 pages to find my updater mods, good idea putting a link to them on the first post ;)

Hint for RC1 users (I believe this error is unique to RC1) and sorry if it has been mentioned elsewhere.  (this theme will soon deserve an entire message board of its own!!)

If you experience this error, "Unable to load the 'main_above' template." after installing the Update package then it is becuase some of the files have been unpacked at 0kb size (check in your theme folder to confirm)

I had a good clean re-install of SMF1.1RC1 running under php 5.1 (for which the php compatibility patch had been installed.

I installed the SMFOne Blue theme and all appeared to be working okay except for the well known calendar problem.

I then installed the updater mods (correctly through the package manager), and my test user account's theme became broken.

The only option is to manually overwrite the theme files with the updated ones.

Other than that, I was unable to detect any differences between using the original SMFOne and the Updater files.  What am I missing here?

Obvisouly there are no changes with the design, they just make the code compatible to ensure that the use of the forum is error free. There are a lot of changes in the template system if you look carefully like sesc additions and a lot of other stuff. And about the error, I believe that some other users too have experienced this problem before.

Regarding the Calendar.....

I am a total beginner at tweaking php code but I believe I have managed to make all the necessary modifications that will enable it to work with RC1.

I have tested this on my own server and it works for my setup however I have not tested all the permutations of settings yet.

As soon as I have it fully tweaked, I will upload it.

Okay, I think I am there - please try it out and let me know what you think.

(I also added a "post event" button to the upper bar of the calendar header)

Really apperciate it, I will check it and add it to the updater mod. ;)

An Error Has Occurred!
The package manager currently allows only these file types: zip, tgz, tar.gz.

that's this all about.

i got this error message when i tried to download the mod package :(

This is not normal, are you sure that the extension of your package is tar.gz?

When I go into my profile and press "edit buddies" I get the message "Unable to load the 'editBuddies' template."

Nothing major just thought it best to report it.

SMFOne Calendar Template
The previous zip file I uploaded has been modified slightly to correct a fault.

The main calendar on the left had the follwong fault depending on which day was selected by the user as the first day of the week.

Sunday --> Sunday (correct)
Monday --> Monday (correct)
Saturday --> Sunday (incorrect)

The mini calendar on the right hand side was not affected by this.

Really apperciate your help archiebald, I ensure you that this will be added to the updater mod ;)

Hi forsakenlad.

Just wondering if you could take a look @ my 2 forums (www.lfcgoals.com and www.artistfans.com).

I've tired editing the top of the theme's so I can put Adsense banners in and a logo but they just overlap the forum news and info below.

Any chance of a hand?

forsakenlad

Yes of course I can help. Where exactly do you want to add the banners to?

I've managed to do it FSL. The new template layout in RC1 makes things so much easier. Thank you for offering though. Respect.

Are you sure that you have used the updater as a mod? If not please delete the following files from the SMFOne folder:

Calendar.template.php
InstantMessage.template.php
Profile.template.php
Search.template.php

What's the purpose of the buttons at the right up corner and how will I get rid of them if they aren't useful?

Thnx

I just downloaded the updater you linked to and uploaded it to the theme dir. Didn't use the package manager. Thats why I guess.

Deleted those files and its perfect again.

Many thanks.

Great job! I think I'll be using this one for a while!

forsakenlad
