I'm a bit disappointed... It was an easy fix in the template.
I'll still upload a fixed version, this should fix all errors with the user albums page ;)

@annabel> I don't get it... Didn't you want to move the custom fields out of the details section and into the description section? I thought that's what you wanted...

Done. An updated RC3+ is online.
Don't worry though, I'm not adding new features so as soon as RC3+ is found to be entirely bug-free, I'll be releasing it SMG 2.0 Final.

Note to myself: RC3+ was downloaded 35 times before the counter was reset. To these 35 users: you can simply update the MGallery.template.php file from the new package ;) Or just edit out the two </td> tags at lines 986 and 1004. That's the only change, really.

Hey there. Loving this mod. Just got some problems and questions.

The automatic rescaling of pictures dont seem to work. Any suggestions?

Icons dont rescale. If i choose an icon for my album, for example a picture that is 640x480 the icon get that big. Do i have to resize a picture and then choose that as icon? Because that's gonna be a big issue when users want to add icons and dont know that they have to resize the pic first.

Edit: Just noticed something else. Mass upload dont work in Internet explorer. The window where to select pics dont show up.

Edit: I cant upload images bigger than 1000kb even if the max size is set to 5000kb in settings. Why?

Edit: I give up. I have been playing around for a bit now and found out that even if max size is set to 100kb ican still upload files larger than that. The addon is great but not working verry well for me. /uninstalled :-[

Uh?

No you don't. Are you talking about album icons when browsing album lists, or browsing inside the album itself? First case -> it should be a small thumbnail. Second case -> it will be as big as you allow it to be in the admin settings.

QuoteEdit: Just noticed something else. Mass upload dont work in Internet explorer. The window where to select pics dont show up.
1- Anyone still using IE doesn't deserve to use Mass Upload anyway.
2- It still should work... And I'm sure I'd have heard feedback about this earlier if it weren't the case.

QuoteEdit: I cant upload images bigger than 1000kb even if the max size is set to 5000kb in settings. Why?
You can or you cannot?

QuoteEdit: I give up. I have been playing around for a bit now and found out that even if max size is set to 100kb ican still upload files larger than that. The addon is great but not working verry well for me. /uninstalled :-[
If you set a max size of 100KB, you will get a file that is at most 100KB. SMG will try to resize bigger items to fit your max size. If it works, then it'll use that.

Other than that, if you don't like mods to try and second guess what you're trying to do, then I can't second guess what you would like them to second guess you for. Or something like that.

Another beautiful, very moving case of a first time poster who falls in love with a mod only to fail reading the documentation and uninstall it an hour later. I wouldn't want to be his first wife.

Finally getting to do the upgrade and just wanted to verify the instructions.

Do you "UNINSTALL" 1.5.4 first, then reinstall the new 2.0 RC3 for a SMF 1.1.10?

Will I need to Parse the files again?

I am looking forward to this update!

madsen81

First time poster = first time user? Another reason not to support the mod. After using the mod for months and finally upgrading only to find more bugs than it started with im not going to waste my time trying to get it to work (again). Mass upload not working, scaling not working, and size limit not working. I'm sure it's only me that are having trouble with it but fact remains that i AM having trouble and need my forum to work. So ill just make new boards for posting images instead. And btw, i did say great mod so no use beeing rude.

Nao 尚

@madsen> So you've been using the mod "for months" and you've never used mass upload? Yeah, sure... As for being in love with it, you sure are quick to dismiss it as crap.
As I always say about mass upload: I don't know what it is with you people who think without mass upload SMG is crap -- it's like saying that SMF is worthless if the quick edit option is disabled.
And me, "rude"? I did answer ALL of your concerns, didn't I? That's the most polite I could ever be to a message that ends with "I'm uninstalling this".
Apparently you're just here to troll, though. I see your other message is to the SMF team itself, where you ended your blurb with the same joke: "Uninstalling this".

@jmil> Yes, uninstall first. For a 1.5.x upgrade, it is mandatory, so many things have changed. Your pictures will be kept, of course.

I have spent hours looking at every option I can find I don't think I've overlooked anything.
Yes you did. I went into your admin area, SMG > Settings and look at upload_max_filesize. It's set to 2M.
So, yes, you didn't read the descriptions, as the one for this setting says, "This server-side variable limits upload sizes. You can set it via a php.ini file, see details on the right". And indeed the "2M" thing is clickable and explains that it's limited to 2 megabytes per file.

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the change log for RC3+ says that the incompatibility with the WYSIWYG Quick Reply mod has been fixed, but that's not entirely true.  I was all excited when I saw that, because much to the disappointment of my users, I've had to disable the WYSIWYG Quick Reply because of this incompatibility.

So, in my test environment on a new, clean SMF 2.0 RC1.2 installation, I installed the very latest Gallery 2.0 RC3+.  I then created a single album and uploaded a single file.  I started a thread and posted 2 posts, both with just [smg id=1].  This worked as expected with both posts showing a clickable thumbnail of the image.

I then installed WYSIWYG Quick Reply RC1 and went back to that thread.  Now, the first post in the thread showed the text [smg id=1] while the second post showed the thumbnail as expected.

So it looks like it's "kinda" fixed, but not completely.

Nao 尚

You mean my fix works on a clean environment, but not on your specific install?

Then you'll have to send me admin+ftp access so I can look into it. Although I'd then say it's an incompatibility with yet another mod... :-/

PS: my fix for WQR is not a "complete" fix in the sense that it only tries not to leave smg tags untouched in some situations that WQR messes with, and I don't see of any way to completely make WQR live with SMG. The only absolutely way to do it would be to set a specific variable that lets SMG know the smg_disable call should not be taken into account. I don't see how to make SMG bend to WQR, so I'm afraid it'll have to be the other way around -- meaning Antechinus will have to enter the game and check the problem out.

Sigh... I have had this problem since the first time i installed it. I solved it by rescaling the pics before uploading. I havent been moderating my forum for a while and began to do so just yesterday. Upgrading the forum to the new realease and with that all the mods. Beeing tired of rescaling all the pics before uploading i thought i would try to actually sign up here and state my problem. While waiting for answer i played around some more with the mod only to find out that restrictions and other functions dont work according to me. Setting a max size at 100kb or 5000kb didnt make a difference. I could still upload with the problem that no matter what restriction all files (images) bigger that 1000kb would not be uploaded or rescaled.
But never mind.
"As for being in love with it, you sure are quick to dismiss it as crap." Yep, and you sure are quick to jump to conclussions.
"And me, "rude"? I did answer ALL of your concerns, didn't I?" Draging my wife (or atleast mention it) isn't rude?

Well, im sorry for beeing a "first time poster" trolling about. And about the post to the SMF team, beeing logged in as administrator and cant do anything cus of "maintenance mode" is just something that should not be able to happen. With bugs like that im going elsewhere. I might be fast at giving up, but my users still deserve a working forum.

No, the fix does not work on a clean environment.  In a fresh install of SMF 2.0 RC1.2, on the Default theme with only the WYSIWYG Quick Reply and SMG installed, the problem still exists.

For some reason, the FIRST time the SMG tag shows up on a page, it does not show the thumbnail but shows the tag instead.  On every consecutive post after that, it works fine.

I guess I'm wondering what broke it in the first place?  I used SMG and WQR together for quite a while before it broke.  I'll go back and look through the my posts and see if I can pinpoint when the incompatibility showed up.

Thanks for helping with this.

probinson77

I went back and looked through this thread to see when this incompatibility with SMG appeared on my forum, and it was when I upgraded from SMG 1.5.6 to 2.0b4;
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=260821.msg2237152#msg2237152

So, out of curiosity, I just set up another clean install of SMF 2.0 RC1.2 and installed SMG 1.5.6, created a single album and uploaded a single picture, created a new topic with 2 posts, both with just [smg id=1] and it worked as expected.

I then installed WQR RC1, and when I went back to the thread, it STILL worked as expected.  So the 1.5.6 smg tags can exist together happily with WQR, but the 2.0 smg tags don't like WQR for some reason.

No, I don't want to just change the position of it on the same page, if that's what you're asking. I want to move the fields from the "post picture" page to the "post album" page. If you know what I mean? :)
Like I said, from index.php?action=mgallery;sa=post;album=# to index.php?action=mgallery;area=mya;sa=add
That's why I moved a piece of code from MGallery.php to MGallery-Sub.php, because it did exactly what I wanted, but then the fields stopped working.

Nao 尚

@probinson77> Not surprising. v1.5.6 didn't support Wysiwyg, I believe. If you try adding manually a smg tag in the post box, then click on the "A" button to switch to WYSIWYG, it will decode the item instead of still showing the tag itself. Then you switch back to non-Wys and you get garbage instead of the tag...

@annabel> Hmm... Custom fields are for use with items, not albums, IIRC. They're associated with albums, but only in whether they appear or not on an item from within a particular album.

@meehan> It's been a long time since I haven't seen that bug... I don't remember that. Use a search engine.

@madsen> I thought my wife joke was pretty neat. I don't care whether you have a love life or not, you're just a boring accountant when you overreact to my comments. Which themselves were triggered by your obvious trolling. So, go ahead and try something else, I don't have time to waste on you.

OK yes I didn't fix those. The reason was not so much I didn't do it but more that I didn't know what the hell it was talking about. The big problem was that I didn't have a php.ini I called my Web Provider to find out where it was and they explained to me why I couldn't find it. After I got one it was pretty easy to fix. Sorry Newbie at work! Reading documentation isn't always the answer because it didn't help me this time.

I also had the Upper Case problem my videos were named with an uppercase .AVI changing to .avi solved that.

Single and Mass Upload both work now but unfortunately I can't play my videos they just sit there forever with "Loading" spinning away. There is no error in the event log. So close!

Did I miss something else. Any ideas?

Teal

I'm getting a few errors and could use a little help.

Quote2: Invalid argument supplied for foreach()

Line: 27

Quote8: Undefined index: areas

Line: 27

Quote8: Undefined index: title

Could someone give me a little insight on what may be the underlying issue?

Thanks in advance!

I'm getting this error when I attempt to install:
Quote6.   Execute Modification   ./Sources/Load.php   Test failed
   1.   Replace   ./Sources/Load.php   Test successful
   2.   Replace   ./Sources/Load.php   Test failed
So, I attempted to use the package parser and it says that it's not compatible with 2.0 RC1.2.

Nao 尚

@captain> you have a problem in that your urls add ";upcook=..." to them, I dunno why. Use .flv instead anyway, .avi is very scarcely supported on the web.

@palm> yes it is.

@teal> eval error. Not related to SMG.

Nao, I know that it is because I have it installed already.  The problem is that after attempting to upgrade, I got the error and attempted to use the package parser in order to manually edit the files that failed and then received the following error:
QuoteSorry, but this modification does not appear to be compatible with the selected version.
