One question, what to do if I´d like youtube-videos to be posted via link like if You wanted to klick a text-hyperlink to get to youtube?
Auto-Embed really is great and should be as it is, but you don´t want it everytime...
I tried several settings in Aeva-Autoembed-Panel and ACP, but can´t figure it out. Is there even a way?

Like if when using the Hyperlink-Button or directly type hyperlinked-text an URL can be posted that won´t appear as embedded video, But when You copy and paste an URL directly, the video is autoembedded... That would be great.  :)

@ thefourpost  : worth double-checking the permissions both in Aeva and in the membergroups.

Yogi, thanks a lot!!

Now would there be a way to create a button which works in WYSIWYG-QUickReply and normal reply which would prompt the user for entering a text and the YT-URL to create a (noembed)(url=youtube.com/video)TEXT(/url)(/noembed) code?
I am sure there is a way but that is nothing I could do myself (except designing the button) without help...  :)

I have searched this topic up and down and cannot find the answer, though I have seen several people ask about it.  We are getting the following error:

"Cannot find proper destination on the server, please contact your administrator"
Only the admin can fix that. Find Aeva's path settings and fix 'em to point to existing directories.

they are ok.  All the other albums work fine.  I just recently upgrade my forum and to the latest version of Aeva and we were able to upload to all the existing folders and subfolders.  I created a new one for the new year and that is the folder that is giving us the error.

I have installed Aeva Media 1.4w and the gallery is working fine but the auto embedding is not doing anything. I have all of the sites checked and have tried different settings. Im logged into my admin account and have tried posting youtube links but it only shows the link after making the post. How can I get it to auto embed the links posted?

This is a great mod, and what I am looking for. I am curious though if it is possible to create default albums for everyone to upload to that are not user creatable?

-Thanks

Kindred

what do you mean user creatable?

Look at the permissions profiles in the aeva admin tool

Users can create their own albums. I just want to set up default albums that are not associated to any members including the Administrator that members can upload to to.

So is it possible to just create default albums that are not associated to any members as created by?

-Thanks

No..   All albums are associated to some user

Yes I know, that's what I am trying to change. So is it not possible to create just default albums that are not associated to members?

Arantor

No, the code was never designed to achieve that.

Two options: one, you create an album yourself and allow everyone to post to it, or two, you create a fake user and they own it.

In general I find it actually easier to let users create their own and they'll manage it in terms of organisation, plus there are performance benefits to that vs a single massive album once you get beyond 1k items or so.
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

Texan78

Problem with letting users create their own album is now you have pictures scattered everywhere and no organization.

I don't want to create a default albums that is assigned to or looks like it is assigned to any user. I guess this isn't going to fit my needs so I am just going to uninstall it and trying something else.

Arantor

Thing is, generall, users then post their images in the forum, and actually it is more organised than one massive folder with everything in it (where you can't find anything)... Really though, you may as well just use attachments as it'll be as organised...

besides, I think you under-estimate the users (wow, this is probably the first time I have ever said that)

I have about 30 albums created under the admin account, dedicated to specific things... and most users use those albums correctly. Some of them also create personal albums (because I allow them to do so) for their posts and documenting projects.... but, for the most part, the general albums are correctly used, regardless of the fact that they are technically "owned" by the admin.

It wouldn't be one massive folder as it would be several categories. Pointless to sort through 100 of members albums who have various pictures scattered in their album just to look for Lightning photos, or winter pics, or tornado pics etc. Also my member base is a older member base who likes things simple and may not be very computer savvy. My gallery isn't suppose to be user specific it is suppose to be category specific to the forum. It's not meant to allow members to upload their family vacation photos. There are other sites for that. To create a album and it says created by would confuse most. Maybe not to some, but you would be surprised with members I have. I have uninstalled it and went with SMF Gallery and it does exactly what I need so issue is resolved now.

ACAMS

I have Aeva Media 1.2 and for some reason MP4 is not embedding, does anybody know what I need to do besides update which may/may not work?

drroot

How to set up that when we click an image to open the next photo just like Picasa?
Currently when we click an image which is already open, it simply closes that image.

Any setting options?
