wouldn't uploading the file to pacakes folder and editing install.list also remove it?

So the only way we could get rid of the reminder would be re-patch using the Package Manager? *sweat*
Yeah.
Thanks  winrules. I'll re-patch it right away then.

Hi.

I updated to 1.09 very easily.  I'm still too new at this to risk a release candidate, and here is a good example of why:

I used package manager to upload a "Users in the last 24 hours" mod.

Works Great!

The only reason I have not posted that in the bit where the mod came from is that now I can't update ANY more mods at all!

I tried the member color mod, and some tests, but nothing works.

They are all giving the legendary "The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF." message.

I think I need to manually change a 1.08 to 1.09 somewhere, but am totally lost as to where!

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Peace

Migraine

Currently using 1.0.8.  Everytime I try to upload the patch, regardless of if I do so manually or via the package manager, I get the following error:

QuoteAn Error Has Occurred!
2: copy(/home/doenet/public_html/forum/index.php~): failed to open stream: Permission denied
File: /home/doenet/public_html/forum/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 1307

Here is what I have for line 1307:

Quotecopy($working_file, $working_file . '~');

Is there something I need to change in that string of code in order for the patch to work??

Thanks,

~M

Migraine, to solve your problem, CHMOD your forum's Sources directory to 0777. This can be done via your FTP client, or via cPanel's File Manager (if you have cPanel access).

I installed the latest patch to 1.0.8 using the Ig-Oh theme.

I now have this error message displayed in a large orange rectangle, all of my pages -

QuoteAttention of Ig-Oh theme:

This theme doesn't correspond to the version of SMF that you are using. This theme is made for SMF 1.0.7 & SMF 1.0.8.

Members are not seeing this, and the theme is fully functional.

Is there any way this noob can remove this error message?

Thanks in advance-

Patch from 1.0.8 to 1.0.9 still won't install even after I CHMOD 777 to the Sources directory.  I'm still getting this error:

An Error Has Occurred!

File: /var/www/vhosts/DOMAIN.com/httpdocs/fanforum/Sources/Subs-Package.php

Consult with the theme author to make it 1.0.9 compatible. Also, you are hiding the copyright text on http://klrworld.com/forums with black, the text must be clearly visible on all pages, please alter your style sheet accordingly.

I'm not hiding anything- the black bottom is part of the Ig-Oh theme, not intentional by any means on my part.

I wish I knew how to change that file, but I'm very new at this. Maybe the theme author has a fix-

Any advice on changing the color would be appreciated-

I'll contact the Ig-Oh author asking for an update as well.

Fixed the black background - looked around in the css file & found the culprit.

thanks for the heads up.

No problem- I wasn't even aware it was a issue.

Sorry for the ultimate newb question, but......
I just recently took over our site.  The forum is currently SMF1.0.7.  The mods listed are :
1 - SMF 1.0.6 Update
2 - SMF 1.0.7 / 1.1 RC2 Update (marked as installed)

When I go to the Package Manager, there is a statement at the top saying that a security issue has been found with 1.0.7.  When I click the this patch update link, it says that it is going to install 1.0.8.
How exactly do I go about upgrading to the most recent version?  This will be my first attempt at this so any detailed assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated!  What all needs to be done before I upgrade?  I really don't want to cause any down time on our site.

FIrst upgrade to 1.0.8, and then upgrade to 1.0.9.

Thanks for the response!!  Anything I should do before I upgrade?  Or just click the Apply Mod button for SMF 1.0.8 Upgrade Package in the Package Manager?

Nope. You can have your 1.0.7 to 1.0.9 in minutes. :)

Also you could do a manual upgrade if you want. But package is easier.
