I noticed that when I uninstalled Alpha 1 and 2, both times the uninstaller said it would fail on the default/languages/modifications.english.php file.
Both times I went ahead with the uninstall, and it removed everything else fine but left that file alone.

Thought you might want to know.

Nao,

Installed with the following issues.

I still get incomplete files with 0kb. (manual fix)
During install I was missing many of the code insertions. (manual fix)

After that mod works great, haven't found problems yet.

Thanks Nao for the update.

Links in the report center for comments get to pages like ?action=media;sa=item;in=9$com2 instead of #com2. Meaning it doesn't go down by itself.

@Phizinza> Then 8 MB it is... You can't upload files > 8 MB on your server. PHP will simply discard the file and Aeva Media will send an error saying 'No file was specified'. (If you're mass uploading, it will simply stall the process at 100%.) You need to update your php.ini file or use FTP Import.
I fixed my php.ini problem, it is now set at 100M. The phpinfo() files says so. But the AM settings still say 8M. Do I need to reset/reinstall anything or will it just take time to fix?

Oh and also if I install the new version I have to delete the old one. Will that delete the contents of the gallery or will that stay and show up in the newer version?

I just installed Aeva Media 1.0 Alpha 3 with SMF 1.1.11.
I have EzPortal 0.3.4 installed.

It seems to work (youtube embedding works, and there's page accessible through action=media, but I may be missing something obvious. How do users access the photo gallery? Should there be a media or gallery menu item available for users? I can't seem to find a menu item to view the gallery other than that found within the admin area. Am I supposed to create my own?

I looked at the error log and found a lot messages like this...

http://www.scrc-twincities.com/smf/index.php
8: Undefined index: allow_smfgallery_view
File: /var/www/vhosts/scrc-twincities.com/httpdocs/smf/Themes/default/Login.template.php (main_above sub template - eval?)
Line: 591

any advice will be appreciated...

another question not related to the above... are there any tools to convert Gallery2 images to this?

thanks!

Nao 尚

Francis, thanks. Open Aeva.template.php and replace $com by #com (there's only one). Is it that one?

Dismal, ahh, well... You have too many mods. I'm not going to spend hours figuring out which one has the conflict with AM. If you have such time, then please be my guest. If not, you will have to check the conflict area manually in Load.php.
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

Ok, I can try. What am I suppose to look for in load.php?

If it says 8M, then it's 8M. I only use the get_ini() function which retrieves data from php.ini... It says what it says, really. There are two variables to update.

QuoteOh and also if I install the new version I have to delete the old one. Will that delete the contents of the gallery or will that stay and show up in the newer version?
It will delete everything, including your site, and your house, and your life. Be careful!

Seriously, do you see any reason to delete your files when the whole point of the mod is to manage them?

General Permissions.

QuoteI looked at the error log and found a lot messages like this...
smfgallery_view? It's an old permission... Did you uninstall SMG correctly?

Quoteanother question not related to the above... are there any tools to convert Gallery2 images to this?
No, but it can be done. Install Coppermine Gallery 1.4 and use their tools to import a Gallery2 system to CPG. Then use the AM tool to import a CPG system. If you have hundreds of pics, it's worth the time.
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

I have installed Aeva 1.0 Alpha 2 and built a test gallery. I set it to be viewed by all member groups, including guest, but forum users can't access it. There must be something simple I am doing wrong, or a step I have missed. Here is my forum.

http://www.brookmans.com/forum/

The test gallery is here

http://www.brookmans.com/forum/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=1

I can see it when logged on, but not when logged out or when logged in as a user.

Apologies if this has been answered before. I did search all threads for the answer before posting.

Any advice gratefully received.

this is the same with *ALL* mods.   Mods install in the english language files only, (mostly) not english-utf8, not british, not british-utf8, etc etc etc

please do not double and triple post... edit your previous post if it has not yet been approved or responded to.

Bring your problem to the general issues board for SMF. (And post the new link here if you want me to follow the discussion.)

Or send me your FTP details & an admin account and I'll try to have a look.

Thank you very much Nao. Here is the link: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=359032.0
