Kindred,

That's the first thing I did. I even tried 777 to all the required directories.

imrich: what errors you get, may be useful to tell. All of them.
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

Pages of errors.. mostly because of the missing files. I tried to look for related errors, but as I look through the logs, they grow (lots of missing files in Aeva).

Kindred, I checked ownership of about every file I could think of. I'm sure this is simple, but I just can't find it.

Is there a package test script available that will test functions for the package manager? I'm wondering about the 'require-dir' directive as I don't see the mgal_data directory created either.

I upgraded from 7.0 to 1.1 without any installation problems.  But now the YouTube video doesn't show up.  There seems to be a place holder where the video should be because I see a big blank spot and the title of the video at the bottom.

I checked the properties of the YouTube video and it is set to allow embedding for external sites.

Any idea want could be the problem?  I uninstalled 7.0 before upgrading to 1.1.

Edit - I am just using the YouTube URL to the video, not the embed code.

I'm having the same issue on a virgin SMF2 RC3 install (testing).

More clues..

It appears that the files are not showing up in ./Packages/temp, or the files that are in the folders of Aeva Media.

I see them in the .zip file. I even downloaded/ uploaded it again to be sure I didn't have a bad copy.

When I open the .zip on my local system (before uploading the file with the package manager), I see the folders
mgal_data, Sources and Themes.

But I don't see them in ./Packages/temp after this bombs (but I do see other folders).

Of course the errors in the log (know that I know to look for these) do say they can't find the files, such as:

opendir(.../Packages/temp/Sources) [<a href='function.opendir'>function.opendir</a>]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory

I'm still digging... thanks!

Hi,
almost same issue for me too (like sremick and RoarinRow)

In some section I get no problem at all, but in another, the links stay as this, no video appear at all, but if I post a link and make a preview of my post, I see the video.
Once I save it, there's just the link standing there...

I've seen that the javascript isn't load on the topic where I get this problem.

Update: for some reason, the Youtube video appears fine in message preview while you're editing it. But not after you finalize and post it for real.

I understand! Thanks, I will take a look at that. Will let you know if it works.

imrich

update on my issue.

To get this to work, I had to install via the package manager.

THEN:

Manually FTP  the other folders from the Aeva .zip to their locations:

/mgal_data
/Sources
/Themes

Of course since I had to FTP, I then had to set permissions as appropriate.

Something is different or a problem on my server with the package manager and creating directories.

Now that I remember this, I know I had problems in the past versions with the creation of the Packages/temp folder and had to make it manually. So perhaps this is also related to subfolders of the Packages/temp directory.

It must be a server configuration item. Does anyone know what I should look for in phpinfo or to ask my hosting provider?

Thanks for your help, I do appreciated it!

Ok, Nao, I tried inserting this SQL:

CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS forum_aeva_fields (
id_field INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY,
name VARCHAR(100) NOT NULL DEFAULT '',
type VARCHAR(20) NOT NULL DEFAULT 'text',
options TEXT NOT NULL,
required TINYINT(1) NOT NULL DEFAULT 0,
searchable TINYINT(1) NOT NULL DEFAULT 0,
`desc` TEXT NOT NULL,
bbc TINYINT(1) NOT NULL DEFAULT 0,
albums TEXT NOT NULL

I got this sql error:

SQL-query:

CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS forum_aeva_fields(

id_field INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY ,
name VARCHAR( 100 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT '',
TYPE VARCHAR( 20 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT 'text',
options TEXT NOT NULL ,
required TINYINT( 1 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT 0,
searchable TINYINT( 1 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT 0,
`desc` TEXT NOT NULL ,
bbc TINYINT( 1 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT 0,
albums TEXT NOT NULL

MySQL retourneerde:

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 10

Quick post (no time tonight): if you have a problem with v1.1, try reverting to v1.0, or using one of the SVN releases...

As for folders being created as files -- no idea why it happens, but sometimes it does. SMF2 RC3 is/was supposed to fix that.
Fix by deleting the 0-byte files, and uploading manually the folders.
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

Aeva Media rocks your life.

imrich

Nao,

First, thanks for your great work! Aeva is our most favoritte feature, so I need to get this working before I can roll out RC3 or my users will kill me! :)

It's not creating folders as files, it just seems to be ignoring the folders, or not creating them. I think it's not creating them in the /Packages/temp folder, and then of course, they are not installed after that! Note that safe_mode is off on my server.

I almost have it  working now, I have all the files installed (manually), but now I'm seeing the same error that others are. Posts that were working before, now don't embed. If I edit those posts and click 'preview', they embed in the preview, but don't show up when done editing.

I tried clearing the SMF cache, but that didn't help.

I'd still like to solve the package manager issue, but that may not be an Aeva problem (obviously now). So if anyone has a clue as to where I should look, or ask my host, I'll be happy again.

Mods... should I try a different support topic than cluttering up Aeva with an install issue that's probably probably not Aeva related?

I tried to revert back to 7.0.706, but that did not work either.  I check my installation and all the files are where they should be.  None are 0-byte.

@imrich I think it is an ownership problem like Kindred pointed out. Server configuration. Give your provider a call. Please post the solution here (if resolved of course) so that others with similar problems can be helped too.

Mine now works after I changed this setting from No to Yes:

Use earlier, Javascript-less, embedding system

I am viewing from my iphone.  Can someone go to my site and actually see the embedded videos.  My work blocks YouTube.

@RoarinRow, the "Jasmine Rambling" played just fine, and others before it were displayed as well. :)

Thanks Nao for the new version :)

I had a similar issue upon install to one mentioned a couple of pages back, and I post it here to help others with the same problem.

My site has SMF Links installed. This adds a menu item, but it leaves the subs file untidy. When AeMe installs it looks for:
'mlist' => array(
however SMF Links has left it as:
'mlist' => array(
i.e. without the leading tabs, and so the AeMe install returns an error.

I worked around this by continuing with the install then adding the AeMe menu block after. Alternatively you could try uninstalling SMF Links, installing AeMe then re-installing SMF Links.
