The SMF Gallery converter works well, as far as I know. Do yourself a favor and use the converter instead of starting afresh. That way you can compare both galleries and their features so you can decide which you like best!

NAO - I downloaded your converter zip but I dont see a file that converts SMG to Aeva Media.  Can you kindly direct me to the file?  I want to start converting my SMF 1.1.x SMG database to the Aeva Media db.

I'v just discovered that my histing is using SAFE MOD, for secutiry reasons...
How can I use the workarond "MGallerySafeMode.php".
Is there a guide or some instructions?

I install it in an automatic mode and have not received problems at installation.

My hosting altervista.org [nofollow] (the best italian free hosting) uses particular setting of SAFE MODE.

These are the setting of SAFE MODE returned by phpinfo() :
safe_mode_allowed_env_vars: PHP_ (local value) PHP_ (master value)
safe_mode_protected_env_vars: LD_LIBRARY_PATH (local value) LD_LIBRARY_PATH (master value)

The effects are that, without the workaround "MGallerySafeMode.php", I can:
- create album, via browser
- upload photos, via browser

In short, I can use all the functions... but I cannot upload a thumbnail 

Nao, can you modify the code use to upload the thumbnail in tte same way of the code used to upload an image, please?

Let me guess... It lets you upload pictures if they're smaller than the max size you allowed, right?

If they need to be resized, you'll have the same problem.
I can try to fix it, but I'm no good at Safe Mode programming. (I devise the MGallerySafeMode fix out of despair after trying to find better workarounds.) It should also be noted that SMF itself has an equivalent to MGallerySafeMode. So I'm not sure it's possible to fix.

Yep. Changing the pattern link from https to just http and doing the same to the links will make aeva embed the link.

Hmm yeah, been looking into the code... It's not technically due to a bug in the sitelist, but rather a limitation in the embed code. Because Aeva looks for http:// link and when it can't find them, it stops looking. Problem is, I don't know of any other site that uses https:// exclusively for showing videos, so I can't really justify adding a test for https:// that will slow down all forums (even if very very little), just for a single site which isn't even in the official sitelist... :-/

I don't see any easy solution to this.

ok, i test this link in my local testing server and it added properly.  Probably on the basic server where that is present an error. I will search. Thanks!

I've setted the max upload limit to 512k into Aeva Admin Panel.
Just now I've  uploaded via browser a 158k photo, without any problem.
If I try to use you avatar (yes, your avatar in this forum: 100x67 pixel - 3,4 Kb) as a thumbnail.... it doesn't work because of Safe Mode.
It's strange. Doesn't?

Edit:
I have just tried to upload an image whose weight is 634k (1024x680 pixel).
I didn't receive any error, even if the limit is 512k (probably because I'm the admin?)
The image was correctly upload into the gallery. Now it's 1024x680 pixel (the same) but it's weight is 228Kb (very reduced).
But I cannot upload a thumbnail...
