What files need permissions changing and to what, 755???
Path and URL are correct.

Nao 尚

@Nibogo> 99% of users don't check out the "Additional options" area either, especially after seeing it a first time before AM was installed...
And if no one was using AM, at least I'd be getting some sleep :P
Could you instead tell me what you thought would be "very visible" an improvement?

@Lorenzo> No problems here...?

@spaceboy> SMF Gallery isn't SMF Media Gallery.

@rubix123> "Albums" doesn't look like a link because you're using a custom theme, I guess. Make your albums show in the front page by setting them to Featured state (only for people with moderation rights.)

Il-Pjazza.com

Hi,

I installed the Aeva Media mod after uninstalling Aeva and the media gallery.  I also have simpleportal installed.

The problem is that SMG tags are displayed as thumbnails only on the portal front page, and not on the forum, as follows:

hxxp:www.il-pjazza.com/forum/ [nonactive] (mainpage, with thumbnails displayed correctly in the right sided blocks)
hxxp:www.il-pjazza.com/forum/index.php?topic=8555.0 [nonactive] (Post including an SMG tag which is not being displayed as an image).

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

Files are 0644 and folders are 0755.
99% of server move failures are due to incorrect path and/or URL settings, really.

Checked all permissions, rechecked URL and path, ran Find Orphans with the same result, bit lost now.

Dunno. Try uninstalling & reinstalling.

(Well, what? I dunno, that's all.)

@tfs> Here's something for you to play with ;)

SVN rev 209

* Disable cache by default at install time. (db_aeva.php)
* Simplified install script (package-info.xml)
! Long-lived typo in admin area (Aeva-Admin.php)
! Show FFMpeg information as regular text in the admin settings, rather than a lone header. (Aeva-Admin.php)
! Fixed undefined function when upgrading AM (already fixed in 1.0 Final.) (Aeva-Admin3.php)
- HTML comments were never needed inside style tags. Removing them. (Aeva-Embed.php, Aeva-Gallery.php)
+ Added new option in Quick Mod, to add multiple items to a playlist. For the Foxy! add-on only, obviously. (Aeva-Gallery.php, Aeva.template.php)
! Avoid a couple of frequent "illegal mix of collations" errors. (Aeva-Subs.php)

Did you try to reinstall your backup from scratch?

Just installed latest version to see if that fixed it but no good, I will have to request back up but it will be 10 days old so not of much use.

HMMM uninstalled old - installed new but aeva is entirely missing in board (no media button, no admin) but action=media works  ?

spaceboy

@Nao - yes, I mistyped - I meant SMF Media Gallery.  I went through the manual install instructions and all the code for it was already removed from the uninstall.  Other than the Aeva code to remove using the manual install notes, is there anything else that needs to be done?  I removed some files that started with Aeva as well, there may be others.  Is there a list of files that are added to each directory to go along with the code added to existing php files?  Thanks.

Nao 尚

@petesky> the ex-team told me the simplified installer would work :P I guess it won't. Rev 210 restores the earlier installer.
That revision is really for Foxy! customers, though. It doesn't add anything for other users. (And I may even change the Mass Add feature later -- I have dozens of playlists in my name, and I'm not fond of the idea of loading them all on each page... ^^)

@spaceboy> You said it is your test site, right...? Is it really smart to make me spend time on a test site, please? Especially after you had a double install, for which I provide no support?

On my gallery, a 10 day old backup would be just fine.

Anyway-- I don't see what you mean. You said you changed servers, and now you tell me you don't have a backup. How can you change servers without making a backup in the first place?!

There are backups available, I will have to contact the server owner, will I need DB and Files?
Will it be OK now I have updated to Aeva 1.0

Thumbnails are not being created, could this be linked?

#1995
Just ran "Check for Errors" and got this.

The following errors were discovered when searching for errors

    * The physical thumbnail #2304, used with item 769, is missing.

EDIT:

Error logs shows the same problem recurring again and again.

Permission denied

@Nao.  Well the reason I installed it on the test site is so I can make sure everything works correctly before installing something on my live site.  As for the double install, I don't understand.  You mentioned I would have duplicate code from SMF Media Gallery if I installed twice and that the uninstall wouldn't remove both - thus causing issues with the Aeva install.

However, there was no remnant SMF Media Gallery code in those files.  No mention of SMF Media gallery in the php code at all, just the Aeva code - which I removed and my admin menu still doesn't work.  All I am wondering is since I followed the manual install instructions and removed the code as stated, is there anything else that needs to be removed like files or something.  I just wonder why going through the manual install instructions and removing the code didn't fix the problem.

@Nao

Thanks. I considered a long time to buy foxy! but i don't know exactly what it's doing for me.
I read your FAQ but it seems i have no scope for it ?!

spaceboy

@Nao - also wanted to mention your help is appreciated.  I liked SMF Media Gallery and what Aeva looks to provide seems to be a great improvement.  It is a product I'd like to support and utilize.  I just don't understand what went wrong - your earlier comments made me think I'd see SMF Media Gallery code still in the php, but it's not there.  Thanks.

Nao 尚

Well that's REALLY a file permission problem... Complain to your host.
