General support topic for Aeva Media (Latest release: July 28, 2010)

Oops I was wrong and that didn't fix it.  No matter what kind of video (YouTube etc...) the highslide feature will play the video, but when you get to the part where you can make comments and rate it the player and the video don't show up.  It just shows the title, link, and the description.  I cannot seem to figure out why this is?

1.2 installed successfully, Nao, but the Aeva index page insists the latest version is 1.1b so thinks 1.2 is out of date.

Well that's old news for users of the SVN, but given that I've done far less commits in the last couple of months, I figured most people would see this as, well... New news

One thing you guys do not discribe well is how you uninstall the previous 1.1b mod before installing this one. How do you uninstall the previous mod properly? (And no, I am not uninstalling SMF and reinstalling SMF... I don't want to lose my entire forum over just one mod.)

Admin > Browse Packages > click onto Uninstall next to Aeva 1.1.b > follow the instructions on your screen until uninstalled then delete.

Browse Packages  > download Aeva 1.2 > Install.

BUT make sure you click only ONCE on each manoeuvre. It can take a few seconds for an action to be performed by the software as it is a relatively large mod.

Nao mentioned install-1.1.xml, but all I can do is stare at its code in list files and that's it. It isn't a file for some reason on my server too. So I'm lost X.x...

How do I have a link named "Media" on top?

I updated all 3 installations to AEVA Media 1.2 this morning.

(Chuckle) ... and now it is informing me that a new version is available: 1.1b

I posted the following at Noisen, and Nao wasn't sure what was causing the problem, so I thought I'd repost it here and see if anyone had a clue as to what was going on (btw, I still get these errors with rev 252)...

I have 1.1b installed and running on an SMF Version: SMF 2.0 RC3 system.  To upgrade, do I need to uninstall 1.1b and install 1.2?  That looks to be the correct procedure but I want to be sure. 

Will my content be preserved if I uninstall and then install the new version?

Cannott get embedded videos to display.  I have upgraded my forum from 1.1.11 to 2.0 rc3 and AM to ver 1.2.  All embedded videos are now only showing as links but play in highslide? On checking the video embed addresses, I find that [URL] tags have been added when I save the links. 

I also have Hacks SMF Gallery Pro installed, would there be a conflict?

Rafferty, Aeva and Gallery pro shouldn't cause a problem. Aeva (not media) is pretty solid.

I had same problem, it wasn't until I went to upgrade to 1.2 that my uninstall came up with errors and it seemed that somehow I did something that two pieces of code did not implement on the Subs.php file.  One of these pieces of code was responsible for the embedding.  So I would look at the parse info for subs.php and see what your actual file has to figure out if that line of code is there.  It is properly labeled so you'll know what it is when you see it.
