Is it possible to download Aeva 1.1b from anywhere? I have it installed and working fine but have accidentally deleted the original zip file so worried about uninstalling when i need to upgrade again.

Also is there a guide to manually uninstalling Aeva anywhere?

All you have to do is go to your /smf/Packages with your FTP program and save any of the mods you want to keep back to your computer

And to manually uninstalling just use http://resourcez.biz/PackageParser/
and follow the install steps in revers

in other words if it looks like this

find
:) :D :(
replace with
:) :( :D :D

you would want to do this instead
find the "replace with" in your php file first & apply the "find" in its place

in effect just reversing what the Manuel install says.

I hope that's clear enough for you

um...

as per the post you even quoted

so cannot download it from the packages folder...

Sorry Just trying to help

All the mods I my self have installed all show in my /packages folder & I can save them back to my computer if I need to

If this does happen for others then the best thing I would suggest to do is if you know the name of a mod

then find the vendor and ask him/her for support

Oya

seems the author does not offer free support for avea any longer apparently after all the hasle he had

Rather then saying go here do this & do that.
this download is the mod your looking for
Cheers. Understand your puzzlement over the problem. It requires a very high level of ineptness to lose the old mod files but somehow I managed it ... There are back-ups but with the hosting firm and therefore a P.I.T.A to access.

SINCE I REPORTED THIS
Quote from: drfun on October 11, 2010, 06:24:31 AM
Please am getting this error after upgrading to 1.4a when i upload pictures
Database Error
Illegal mix of collations (utf8_general_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_unicode_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation 'ifnull'
File: /home/allstude/public_html/Sources/Aeva-Subs.php
Line: 3656

and the surprising thing is that the picture will appear if i click media among
random and recent items. it also shows on simple portal but if i click on the pic on
the simple portal it will tell me this.
Database Error
Illegal mix of collations (utf8_general_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_unicode_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation 'ifnull'
File: /home/allstude/public_html/Sources/Aeva-Subs.php

AND COULD NOT SOLVE IT LEADING TO THE CRASH OF MY FORUM. I thought start all over again, i will not be having the same problem but am still having this error. Now when i upload pics on the freshly install SMF 1.1.11 and Avea 1.4a, i dont only get the above error, i also get this "An error happened during the upload process, please try again or contact the administrator.
file_not_found ()
" am really confuse. i need some help please.

Oya

the collations problem as we told you requires you to edit the database tables individually and you don't appear to have done that!

Hi drfun,
It is my understanding that Oya has explained how to fix your issue in good detail(just skim read), you may have to read his instructions in which he posted twice for you, then carefully go step by step and correct your issue.
This however may continue to occur each time you update Aeva to the more recent installation, and with mods which use their own table(s) and the standard tables with different collations.
Another option is to switch to a better host.
Do NOT give admin and/or ftp details to just anybody, see if they are trust worthy first!!  Do your homework ;)

Kindred

I am sorry, but I do not have time to do individual site stuff at this point. The majority of my time is taken with some other things right now.

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

A longshot could be to try an earlier version of Aeva such as 1.4

Changing to a better host, as suggested by SabreTM would save a lot of problems in the future though. Reading through the support sections it's amazing just how many troubles are caused by dreadful hosts. I can recommend a good one if you send me a PM.  :)

Ever keen to keep up with the latest I tried to embed Youtube 3-D videos but each time, whether using the url or html, I end up with two slightly offset images side by side instead of the combined image which can be viewed in 3-D using the special glasses.

I keep on reading about adding the code yt3d:enable=true but no success. Can anyone tell me exactly where in the code I need to put it?  :-[

I have installed & happy with Aeva Media 2.02
Only 1 question...
Going by my image I uploaded you can see a white background.
as my theme is black it does make it hard to look at.

Where can I change the coding so the drop menu background is black?

Just quoting my own post for help as I never got a reply on it.
is this a theme problem or a aeva problem? ether way what file do i need to look at the edit that background colour

Oya

if you want support for aeva media 2.0 you should ask at the author's site where you will get support
