@tfs: mine?

Yes, it now works for me at your forum also.  And it also works at my Test1 forum, but it does not work at my main forum.  I'm uninstalling mods right now to see if it's conflicting with something.  I started to wonder if it was something with Foxy!, but I've uninstalled Foxy!, Uninstalled Aeva, and reinstalled Aeva but it's still not working.

Will report back when I figure it out.  There's not very many mods to go through here.... I hope it's not SimplePortal.

Well, I've just uninstalled EVERYTHING, and it's still not working.  Something fudged up here I guess.  Let me go get my portal, etc reinstalled.  SimplePortal's "Install" link went away when I uninstalled, so I have to see if it's an issue with versions.  Back in a bit...

I'm starting to wonder if I might have a permissions issue somewhere.  When I uninstalled SimplePortal it uninstalled fine.  No errors anywhere.  But then once SP was uninstalled, the package in the package manager didn't have an install link.  So I deleted it and uploaded it again.  When I uploaded SP and went to install, it said that it was already installed, and that I shouldn't install a second time.  But it *wasn't* installed.  The portal was gone and my home page was the forum, and everything looked right.  The portal was not there.

So I proceeded with the install, and there were no errors.  Everything looks right.

I'm starting to wonder if Aeva and SimplePortal don't have delete rights in some folder somewhere, and that's causing the problem.

It's working now!  I cleared FireFox's cache, and restarted, and it's now working.  Thanks Nao, nice work!

Here's Rev 216, if you're using FF 3.6: http://tcf.essentialknights.com/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=5

Hi,
nice pics,
but unfortunately there is no horizontal thumbnail strip
below the main picture.

Could the HighSlide parameters with AEVA Media also be set like this
horizontal thumbstrip slideshow ?

http://www.highslide.com/examples/gallery-horizontal-strip.html

Many thanks.

P.S: The optimal slideshow player for me would be
www.Fotoplayer.com

Could this also be implemented somehow ?
It is a very nice flash slideshow player that also supports background MP3
music playback and as it could also be used from Picasa, it should
not be too hard to adapt it to AEVA Media ?

Many thanks.

@tfs> Never trust Firefox's cache. It just plain SUCKS. Use Opera for a good use of the file cache. It doesn't friggin' require renaming all files every time you upgrade. :P As for multiple lightboxes, it's a feature that I couldn't offer before because it required to include extra code, and highslide.js didn't have it. The filesize has gone from 36KB to 70KB so obviously it offers a few new features, eh. (In the future I hope to find some time to reduce the filesize to under 60KB and still keep all available features.)

@harti> What is it about this thumbstrip obsession...?
First of all it eats much CPU time, secondly it tends to make your page unstable (I know I had at least a crash with that), thirdly it's just plain anti-ergonomic. And finally -- I'm not adding this, if only because I have plans to make entire albums browsable by slideshow (i.e. without having to switch to a new page), and showing thumbnails for ALL entries in a album that has, say, 5,000 items, would probably kill the page (again). So this is a design choice -- and an obvious one at that!

Anyway--- be happy with what I work on, or just use the software you mentioned. Why should it matter to me... I'm not sure.
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

I have some "small" problem...

galeries with embeded videos don't count the number of views. It says permanent 0 views and if you watch or click into the video entry of the galery.
And
When vidoeposts are marked as new, the button new and the number of new post ist still shown in the menu structure Media [1]. So you have to click on the Button "mark all as seen" to erase the information about new ones.

Pictures entries are working correct.

do you know what could be the problem?

Sweet!  Will be looking forward for that one, Nao.  Good idea!

SMG tag request, border=0.

I'm building a new portal page and am doing it with BBCode, displaying images using BBCode "tables" and SMG tags.  My problem though is that when SMG tags display an image they always put a narrow border around the image.

In the past I've done this with the "html" BBCode, inserting html inside of the BBCode tags, except that it doesn't seem to like doing that when working inside of a BBCode table.  I've recently learned how to generate nice BBCode tables and would like to take advantage of that.

So I wonder if there's a way I can display an image with SMG tag type=full, and have no border around the image?

Awesome, now its working! I am getting view counts for all views, item pages, HS preview, even the new slideshow seems to count properly.

Additionally, the new HS preview has a new issue. When you view a HS preview from the thumbnails, you can no longer expand that preview to full resolution (nor do you instantly know your not viewing full resolution). The only way to view the full resolution now is to view the item page, and bring it up from that preview, then expand to full. Or just download the item. Also their HS copyright is annoying on every photo, maybe it could be moved to alongside your copyright.

As for video views, thank you! Embedded local videos count only when play is pushed. Excellent. And great work with the YouTube embeds too. HS preview counts I think are often used more than item page view anyway.

Hi Nao,
well, I am only working with
maybe maximum 50 pictures per single gallery,
and all other pictures are put in other different galleries,
so the lower horizontal thumbstripe will not be very large...

I really now like the fotoplayer.com
cause it can use background MP3 music and
also lets one zoom in and out of pictures easily.

There is a solution to include this via
Iframe embedding into a HighSlide frame like this:

http://www.fotoplayer.com/userguide/index.html#iframepopup.htm

but I have not yet figured out, if one could use this somehow
with your AEVA Media MOD and/or via the PortaMX HighSlide
extension...

So maybe if somebody else can try this, so the AEVA picture
galleries can just be "played" by the fotoplayer.com
flash player, this would be great.

Many thanks.

Regards, Stefan.

That's because I included the Ajax counter in the highslide onInit() event, and I made sure that the event is called whenever it's showing a new item, like when browsing through the slideshow.

QuoteAdditionally, the new HS preview has a new issue. When you view a HS preview from the thumbnails, you can no longer expand that preview to full resolution (nor do you instantly know your not viewing full resolution).
I don't see what you mean. It has always been this way. There's a "Zoom" link below the picture that means it's not the fullsize item. Click the Zoom link and the full file is loaded. You can even resume the slideshow, and the fullsize picture will be kept in the slideshow.
I'm considering adding new features for Foxy!, such as giving a link to "browse album as slideshow directly with fullsize items". This is doable by code. I could even attempt to preload the next fullsize item while pausing on the current item, hmmm...

QuoteAs for video views, thank you! Embedded local videos count only when play is pushed. Excellent.
That one was already in rev 214, actually... You must have missed it. ;)

QuoteAnd great work with the YouTube embeds too. HS preview counts I think are often used more than item page view anyway.
Yeah, the more I add Highslide features, the less item pages are interesting.
It's actually relevant to my own way of browsing albums. I never click item pages myself.

@azrael> The view count is fixed in rev 216. Will make sure to release it officially tomorrow at the latest.
As for mark seen -- I don't remember seeing a problem with these. Can anyone confirm? It's been a VERY long time since anyone has posted a YT video on my own gallery anyway... Is the problem only with embeds?

@warlock> That feature would probably be in Foxy!, but it's not a problem for you :)

@tfs> Sure... Just play with the css ;) Either in your SMF index.css/style.css (make sure to add an "!important" argument), or in index.template.php (for instance, add a custom css file to your headers), in AM's am.css, but you'll have to edit it on each upgrade.

@harti> *you* are working with small galleries, but not everybody will... For now, all I can say is, it takes room in the hs.css file (about 5KB worth of data), for a feature I certainly couldn't add "by default"...
Background MP3: I don't see what it has got to do with galleries. Ever heard of Winamp? It really whips the llama's ass!
What you're linking to, is a commercial software with a Flash player... I don't use a Flash player to show my pics (accessibility, you know). Except for media items, of course, but that's not the point.
And it's Aeva, not AEVA. Just call it "AM" for short if you really insist on using all capitals...
Ah, and yes, it's technically possible to call an album through an iframe, like is being shown. There is absolutely nothing that prevents it. Except that it isn't as ergonomic as it seems.

I don't know about embeds, but there may be an issue with the FTP Import.  I normally don't enter the Unseen area, however, when I just did, I noticed it has 26 items that my co-Admin just FTP'd in.  There's no indication on the Main Menu button telling me that I have new Unseen items.  Perhaps because I'm also an Admin??

dragos_2p

hello
is there a way to make the gallery public, i want all users including guests to browse the gallery?
i checked the Read access for guests, and nothing

as guest or regular user i don's see the media button, and if i paste the link to the media gallery in address bar i receive "Sorry, but you are not allowed to access the gallery "
tks

Nao 尚

@warlock> I believe it's normal... In order to save on CPU cycles, the unseen counter is cached. The cache is not refreshed all the time. If, however, you go to the Unseen Area and you see new items, then you hit Refresh and your Unseen counter is still zero, then it's a bug.

@dragos> Did you also set perms in the general permissions area? (not just AM's.)

Hi all !

Curious problem: I had to re-install SMF and all mods. Since that time i can DE-INSTALL AEVA but it always stays installed in packetmanager. Whenever i click delete i get the message "be careful deleting an installed package". I can install the new one but AEVA says "this package is already installed". Phh - what is giong on here ?!

Arantor

How did you reinstall?

If you just use a large upgrade, the log_packages table is never cleared out, meaning that the mod is still listed as installed.
